Welcome to Pacific Motorcycle Training, the top school to learn how to ride a motorcycle safely in the Sacramento area. During our classes, you will learn everything you need to know to ride and control your motorcycle safely. Whether you are interested in learning the basics of riding a motorcycle—and getting your license endorsement—or simply improving your motorcycle skills to be safer on the road, come with us and we will provide you with the best classes you can get in the Sacramento Area. We are part of the California Motorcyclist Safety Program and all of our instructors are certified to teach the Total Control riding courses.

Convenient on-line classroom

The classroom portion consists of a six-hour course called eRider that can be done at your convenience and in the comfort of your home. It is highly interactive, using video and other features to address risk management, riding strategy, roadway management, impairments, and special riding situations like carrying passengers and group riding. Participants complete all classroom activities (6 chapters) before their first in-person motorcycle riding session. The motorcycle riding portion of the course consists of 10 hours of in-person instruction on gas powered motorcycles. The 10-hours of riding instruction takes place over two days and builds fundamental street-riding skills and strategies.

The eRider is a great option for busy students who are successful at learning in an individualized, self-paced environment. Please check our eRider FAQs page for eRider system requirements.

We welcome all Sacramento residents as well as future riders from neighboring towns such as Woodland, Davis, Dixon, and Yuba. Come learn how to ride a motorcycle and have fun with us!

"Great place to learn how to ride. I came in with absolutely no experience and felt comfortable with all the basics of riding after the course. Instructors were very experienced and supportive. The lecture portion is online and interactive, which is great because you can go through it at whatever pace and repeat chapters as needed."

"I was a little on the fence about taking a motorcycle training course. I live in Colorado most of the year and we are not required to take a safety course. I thought I knew everything there was to know about riding and therefore, the course might be a waste. I was back home in Woodland recently and took the course at PMT after my wife bought it for me for a bday gift. I learned so many things about riding that I didn’t know before. The instructors are super knowledgeable and do a great job passing on their wisdom..."

"The instructors Zac, Olivia and Mark were all amazing, very patient knowledgeable. I walked away with new knowledge and skills I was never aware of even after riding for years but self taught. So, if you think you know it all. It doesn't hurt to take the class if you haven't done so and just read thru the handbook. Even to refresh. A big thank you to the team."
- Nick Ruelas, November 2025
"Great experience. Learned a lot of fundamentals at this course and this made me more confident in my riding abilities. Instructors were very professional and knowledgeable. Instructors also kept it real and gave a lot of 1 on 1 when needed. I will recommend anyone that is trying to get there M1 license to attend this course."
- Anthony Kwong, July 2025
"10/10 i was so nervous my first day and even fell because of it, but the instructors were so nice and helpful that i was able to get up and pass the class. Would definitely recommend it for anyone in the sac/woodland area."

"My experience was great with Pacific Motorcycle Training in Woodland, on the Pioneer High School campus. Thomas and Steve were the instructors and they were very knowledgeable, supportive and fostered an overall nonjudgmental environment that was conducive to learning. I had never ridden a motorcycle in my life and by the end of the course I had a lot of the foundational skills down. I would recommend this course to anyone. And extra shout out to Thomas and Steve!"
- Tyler Hart, June 2024
"Great class and great instructors! Steve, Thomas, and Q, you guys were awesome! I really appreciate Q giving feedback through each exercise even if I was doing things correct! Great experience, will be back for intermediate classes in the future!"
